Lots of features for a little price............ I really like the "ramp-up" alarm tone; it helps me wake up without feeling startled. It's a very firm beep tone which increases in volume. I believe it would wake up even heavy sleepers at it's peak sound level. It reaches the loud level about 40 seconds after it starts beeping. The forward and backward buttons make it easy to set the time and alarm time. Another nice feature is programming your own snooze-button time. It has a low profile and looks attractive. I have minimal space on the headboard, and this fits very well, being only about 6-1/2" wide. The green LED display is bright enough if you like it bright. This model has a low-brightness switch, which dims the display if you want. It is still easily readable on the low setting too. Don't expect to tune in many weaker radio stations, after all, this is a lower priced radio . The speaker is mono, and just good enough to fall asleep to. One thing that does bother me a bit......below a certain volume the radio cuts out completely. I like to play the radio at very low volumes and cannot do that on this one. LOOK NO FURTHER If you are reading this review, you may have already spent hours looking for a mysteriously elusive product: the decent clock radio. Look no further. I spent months searching for clock radio that would fit my (seemingly simple) needs. I finally found this one, put it to the test and am impressed with the results. The product is so good that I'm writing my first-ever review. I hope you find it helpful. Product pros: - numbers are big enough to read without glasses - soft green doesn't illuminate the whole bedroom - dimmer switch available - grad-u-wake feature: the only buzzer I've experienced that isn't jarring/ugly - small footprint on the nightstand - programmable nap & snooze durations - dual alarms can both be set to radio or buzzer - adequate radio quality - simple, easy, inexpensive Product cons: - none Finally someone got all the features right. See for yourself! Bonsoir. Less is more: The Perfect Alarm Clock I have been looking for a good clock for years, and found this here. Here is what I like about it: * Large numbers readable from the other side of the bed without lighting up the room. * The indispensable nap function (absent on many higher models). * Simple styling does not add to or alter decor. * Easy to set without 15 buttons like my last clock. * Any button works as snooze. What is special about a 9-minute snooze? * Gradual alarm volume starts soft and increases over time, no more fire-alarms! * Two independent alarms to avoid resetting for a special wake-up time. * The radio tunes well and sounds adequate, but who wants to fall asleep or wake up to jarring commercials? * The price! $10 on amazon is a great value. This is perfect to use as an alarm. If you want a sound system to play music, consider a separate sound system, but still use this as your alarm.
